The Thai Royal Army has published its statement on operations launched by the army on July 24, 2025, regarding the ongoing Thai-Cambodian border conflict. The statement says:

"The Thai Royal army summarized the Thai-Cambodian conflict, stating that the Thai side was compelled to respond due to the Cambodian attack targeting Thai troops.

Regarding the conflicts along the Thailand-Cambodia border, the 2nd Army Region wishes to take this opportunity to provide information about the July 24 operation as follows:

Combat operations:

08.20 a.m. - The Cambodian side initiated fire from the area across the Moopa base, to the east of Ta Muen Temple. The Thai force responded accordingly: The opposite area of the Done Tuan temple was reported to have found 2 broken-down Cambodian tanks. Meanwhile, the Cambodian side used 2 BN-21 rocket systems, attacking a petrol station in Kantharalak district, Si Sa Ket. The clashes occurred in the area around the Temple of Preah Vihear from Wat Kaew to Phu Makue, and now both sides remain in their bases. In Chong Chom area, the Cambodian side used supporting fire weapons to continue attacking civilian positions such as the vocational college in Sangkha district in Surin province, the Border Development Center, and civilian homes. After Ta Muen Thom Temple and the nearby areas were closed for tourists' visits, Cambodian forces violently struck the Thai side from early morning using supporting arms aimed at the civilian zones continuously. As of now, there is no sign for the attack to be halted.

Civilian assistance:

The civilians were evacuated from 8 districts in 4 provinces along the border to the civilian  assembly area as planned. The communal kitchens were set up, and the army urged the local governments to facilitate Thai citizens in their regions. There are 11 areas in Thailand borderland impaired with 33 cannon bullets found in Burriran and Surin.

32 Thai Civilians were affected by the incidents–20 injured and 12 deceased

By the Cambodian operations assaulting the civilian areas of Thailand; and with armed weapons, the 2nd Army Region demands Cambodia cease such an effort. Referring to the international principle of considering human rights, the attacks must be aimed only at military bases. Even though Thailand holds on to the rule of law and the international human rights essence, the country will not let any attack violate Thailand’s sovereignty and the dignity of the Nation."

Regarding the conflict Aniuar El Anouni, the European Union of Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy has spoken about the situation:

"The EU is deeply concerned by rising tensions at the border with reports of civilian casualties. We call on both sides to de-escalate and resolve disputes through dialogue and other peaceful means in line with international law, including the UN Charter."

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim, as a chair of the Association of South-east Asian Nations (ASEAN) said Thailand and Cambodia both have shown "willingness" to prevent further hostilities and called on both to declare "immediate ceasefire to prevent further hostilities and to create space for peaceful dialogue and diplomatic resolution."
